Fishing

Cast your line for salmon out on Lake Huron or wade into the Saugeen or Penetangore Rivers for brown trout, rainbow trout, small mouth bass and others just waiting for the right hook to be dangled.

Sunsets are only one of the Lake Huron Shorelines' claims to fame...the fishing is divine and guaranteed to lure back the most ardent fisher again and again! Cast your line for salmon out on Lake Huron or wade into the Saugeen or Penetangore Rivers for brown trout, rainbow trout, small mouth bass and others just waiting for the right hook to be dangled. Fish from the banks of the river or drop your line into the water from the piers in Southampton, Port Elgin (also have a Kids Dock) or Kincardine. The piers make it especially easy to fish with children--take lawnchairs, pack a lunch and cold drinks and don't forget the sunscreen!

Boats can be launched in Port Elgin's harbour ($10/day or $50/season incl. HST) and on the Saugeen River at Chesley Street in Southampton, free of charge.

There is no fee to use the double boat launch in Kincardine's harbour.

Adjacent to the fish hatchery on the east side of the Kincardine harbour is another boat launch owned by the Lake Huron Fishing Club; there is no fee for its use.

Several boat charters are also available.
