Harbour
Kincardine has a state-of-the-art harbour, more than capable of
meeting the needs of a variety of craft.
Boating visitors will be met by the marina staff, whose friendly
smiles and helpful, welcoming ways give boaters their first impression
of Kincardine.
The harbour has room for 154 boats. Sixty boat slips are on floating
docks. There are 20 slips reserved for visiting boats, plus some
others which haven't been rented out for the season.
The
floating docks have made it exceptionally easy for people with mobility
problems to get in and out of their boats. Many improvements at
the harbour in the last few years have reduced the surge, which
in the past has caused problems for visiting boaters.
With its close proximity to Kincardine's downtown, boaters can
walk to the grocery store, liquor store, laundromat and restaurants.
Kincardine's harbour is half way between Sarnia and the North Channel.
No boat has ever been turned away from Kincardine, even the 72
footers which have been known to find safe haven at the harbour
when Lake Huron's waves became too wild.
Kincardine's harbour is open 24 hours a day and has over the years
become a haven of refuge for weary boaters.
While at the harbour take a romantic walk on the boardwalk while
watching the magnificent sunset, the best in all of North America,
while listening to the Phantom Piper pipe down the sun from atop
the lighthouse.
